He noted that bilateral trade currently stands at US$4.5 billion, over 90% of which consists of Indonesian palm oil exports to Pakistan. Shehbaz said Pakistan is ready to work closely with Indonesia to meet agreed trade targets and even offered medical professionals—including doctors, dentists, and professors—to support Indonesia’s healthcare sector. President Prabowo Subianto received a guard of honor upon arriving at the PM House for official talks. PM Shehbaz also praised Indonesia's firm stance on Gaza, stating that its support had contributed to ceasefire efforts despite ongoing Israeli violations. Prabowo expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s warm welcome and said their meeting yielded progress in multiple sectors, including trade, education, agriculture, and science and technology. He highlighted shared values between the two nations and emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to moderate Islam promoting inclusivity and tolerance. Prabowo said he had ordered his ministers to accelerate the rebalancing of Pakistan–Indonesia trade relations and listed palm oil as a key commodity underpinning the bilateral economic partnership. Seven MoUs Signed Both leaders witnessed the signing of seven Memorandums of Understanding covering higher education, scholarships, MSME development, national archives cooperation, narcotics control, Halal certification, and health collaboration. The agreements further strengthen cooperation—while reaffirming palm oil’s central role in bilateral trade.
